Hochfilzen is known for the annual international Biathlon World Cup (the Biathlon World Cup in 2017) and has been known for many years as a snow-sure "insider tip" for cross-country fans . A snow paradise in Austria.
Our house is located at approx. 1,000 m and is approx. 200 from the entrance to the cross-country trails, making it an ideal starting point for cross-country tours . The local cross-country school (Nordic Academy) is within easy walking distance and offers courses as well as rental of cross-country equipment. This can also be purchased here or you can borrow the necessary accessories.
Furthermore, snowshoe hikes, torchlight hikes, toboggan rental, touring skiing etc. are offered there.

In the storage room, a waxing table together with wax-iron and accessories for our guests is available.
Alpine skiers will also get their money's worth here. You can choose between several ski areas in the area, such as Leogang-Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn , as well as Waidring (Steinplatte) and the Bergbahn Pillersee in Hochfilzen , which offer a wide range for beginners to professionals in all levels of difficulty.
The ski bus leaves about 200 m from the house to Fieberbrunn.
Since the winter season 2015/16 there has been a lift connection from Fieberbrunn to Hinterglemm - one of the largest ski areas in Austria has been created here.

Due to the very central location in Tyrol, there are several ski areas:
- Schischaukel Hochfilzen - St. Jakob iH - approx. 2 minutes by car, 500 meters
- Bergbahnen Kitzbühel - approx. 30 minutes by car, 30 kilometers
- Bergbahnen Waidring-Steinplatte - approx. 20 minutes by car, approx. 10 kilometers
- Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn - approx. 5 minutes by car, 5 kilometers
- Leogang / Saalbach / Hinterglemm - approx. 10 minutes by car, 6 kilometers
- NEW - The ski area connection with the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang in winter 2015/16 made the Fieberbrunn ski area part of one of the world's largest ski rooms and a ski area brand with international appeal.
The new TirolS connecting cableway connects not only two ski areas but also the two federal states of Tyrol and Salzburg with a state-of-the-art cable car system.
